Destined to be useful: Hell's attack

Part 3: Hell's attack When the Lord shows us the mighty things we can become for the sake of others, we look at our limitations and end up doubting the Word of God. We shut that voice of hope and convince ourselves that it was not the Lord that spoke. We extrapolate that we would not be successful because we are not well resourced, forgetting that it is not ours but the Lord's duty to endow us with every resource necessary for our calling.  Our problem is that many times, we feel so confident in ourselves that we are convinced that we love the Lord so much. Therefore, this blocks us from looking within, and acknowledging our inability to love or be burdened with the vision of the Lord without His help. We are too strong for the Lord — too strong to be purged. Too strong to hear Love's demands and to be affected by it. However, because of our many cares and the weights of life that we bear, we block ourselves from taking up our destinies. We decide not to be chosen. We leave

Destined to be useful: What is destiny?

Part 2 : DESTINY  What then is destiny?  Luk 2:49 KJV "And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?"  What is this Father's business Jesus talks about? The Father's business is the Will of the Lord, and being about the Father's business is doing all that is in our might (yielding our vessels to the precepts of His Word as if of ourselves) to ensure that His Will be accomplished in us and through us.  Destiny is the Divine Intent (Will) of the Lord for the human race. This Divine Will of the Lord is to be united with mankind; that He (the Lord) may endow him (mankind) with His Love, and man may in turn live from this Love eternally. To the Lord, His destiny for mankind (as succinctly described above) is unchanging, however by virtue of His Love for mankind, He does not impose this Will on any man. The Lord rather admonishes man to choose this path by freewill. Hence true destiny is the Lord's mi

Destined to be useful : Happiness

This is how lost we are as a generation: that we have grown so much in this age without knowing what our destinies are. When inquired, most responses portray destiny to be an unknown future; a mysterious puzzle of their own lives which is known to God only. To most people, how their lives turn out here on Earth is not in their hands, but by the will of an imposing Sovereign who left them choiceless. The truth is that this belief is not meaningful and satisfying to those who hold onto such. As a result, they fabricate their own destinies by their human wisdom and call it their purpose in life. I speak this in confidence because I once shared this belief. The more I held onto this fabricated life, the more I felt lost in Life. Know this today: An unknown destiny is a lost identity… Part 1 — Happiness There is a longing for happiness deposited in everybody. This deposit is the remnant of good that yearns for nothing but the Lord. The desire increases as a person grows. It is an increasing

Will the world come to an end?

My teenage son, Cody walks to me and asks, “Mummy, will this world end? If yes, what shall be the sign of the end of the world?” Before I opened my mouth to say a word, he chipped in again, “Well, before you talk, I already know that the scriptures are written in correspondences. Every literal word means something spiritually, but my friends and I were discussing Matthew 24, relating it to scientific principles. We got stuck at a point. Can you please help me out here?” I smiled, feeling happy and thankful to God for how far He has brought us. My husband, Daniel and I, raised Cody to perceive things from the spiritual point of view always – to will, understand and act from principles all the time. We also raised him to ask questions freely whenever he got confused. Unlike u

Why I do the things I do

We like to think of ourselves in ways which are socially acceptable. However, we are betrayed by our actions from time to time. Many often therefore shy from the responsibility of assessing their actions, lest their true colors be exposed. But hiding from your true colors does not make you any less than you are. Nothing happens by chance. Everything is caused, and every cause is driven by a motive. Our actions therefore do not spring from a vacuum. They are products of our core (interior) being. Our interior being is primarily made up of our loves/desires/affections. This is usually referred to as the heart of man. Our desires inform us on what is good. Thus, they inform our choices and therefore constitute our 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹. Our desires manifest as our thoughts, thereby forming our understanding. Our thoughts /understanding inform us on what is true. Thus, the spirit behind man’s actions has two faculties: the 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 (what we consider to be good) and the 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 (what

The four categories of people

Image
The four categories of people  There are four Categories of people as far as the spiritual life is concerned: 1.   Those who are oblivious about the internal faculties and are thus opened and ruled only by sensuality. Life is only meaningful to these people externally. The influx of the higher cause is untapped and remains latent within them. These people do not reach their full potential as intended by the Divine Cause (God). 2.   Those who are ignorant yet unwilling to search or yield to any knowledge that points to the consciousness of the Divine. These people have shut themselves from the inflow of the Divine from reaching their inner man, and consequently their externals. Hence, they are ruled only by their sensual animalistic parts. Life is only meaningful to them externally too; they can only relate with what is material and literal.  3.   Those who through knowledge come to the realization of the Divine but decide to reject the truth and the demands of righteous living.

We will get there!

Sometimes, we get so tired of striving tirelessly without ever reaching our set goals. Sometimes we wonder if we'll ever get there... Sometimes this good pursuit we've given our lives for seems almost unachievable. We keep climbing and climbing, we feel our knees feeble — our limbs shaky and breaths almost fading. Seeing how far we've climbed up, it's irrational climbing down but there's a dementor that pressingly suggests that that's the only option.  Frustration, this shackle, its voice shouts so strong that we almost feel we've lost control. It saps every joy and tells us it is hopeless having hope. It hypnotizes its prey to think that they've lost the ability to choose, and deceitfully presents one option - giving up. Frustration highlights so much pessimism and pain! It keeps us down in the pits and prevents our eyes from looking up to the light; making us believe that we are on our own and that God is not present. This ol' con keeps replaying o
