Will the world come to an end?

                                                                                                                                                                 
It is a bright Saturday Morning, 21st, July 2040. My teenage son, Cody walks to me and asks, “Mummy, will this world end? If yes, what shall be the sign of the end of the world?” Before I opened my mouth to say a word, he chipped in again, “Well, before you talk, I already know that the scriptures are written in correspondences. Every literal word means something spiritually, but my friends and I were discussing Matthew 24, relating it to scientific principles. We got stuck at a point. Can you please help me out here?”

I smiled, feeling happy and thankful to God for how far He has brought us. My husband, Daniel and I, raised Cody to perceive things from the spiritual point of view always – to will, understand and act from principles all the time. We also raised him to ask questions freely whenever he got confused. Unlike us, we did not know these divine verities when we were teenagers. We were afraid to ask certain questions too. It almost appeared forbidden to desire to know the truth about the ways of God. Yet, by the grace of God, we were privileged to know these heavenly treasures through his servant Pastor Jeffrey Walter.

“You know what Cody?” I replied, “Coincidentally, our Head Pastor shared this message exactly 19 years ago. Come along, call Daddy and your siblings and let’s watch the sermon again. I bet we’ll be so blessed like never before.”

"Just erase and draw again"

I was inspired by a 9 year old boy to draw, I was only 5 years old then. Over the years, I have come to know that there is more to drawing than what we literally see. When I was 5 years old, I saw an older boy drawing. I'm sure he was about 9 years old. He was drawing a man. It was the first time I had seen such a nice drawing, nicer than the ones my nursery teacher drew on the blackboard. I couldn't draw like that, the best I could do was to trace. We will get there!

Sometimes, we get so tired of striving tirelessly without ever reaching our set goals. Sometimes we wonder if we'll ever get there... Sometimes this good pursuit we've given our lives for seems almost unachievable. We keep climbing and climbing, we feel our knees feeble — our limbs shaky and breaths almost fading. Seeing how far we've climbed up, it's irrational climbing down but there's a dementor that pressingly suggests that that's the only option.  Frustration, this shackle, its voice shouts so strong that we almost feel we've lost control.
